1999/00 Polish League: 1/16 1999/00 Polish Cup: Semi-Finals As Polish league winners of the 1999/2000 season Polonia Warszawa entered the Champions League in the Second Qualifying Round. This was the club's first ever appearance in the Champions League. They overcame Romanian champions Dinamo Bucuresti 7-4 on aggregate. In the third Qualifying Round they lost 3-4 to Greek club Panathinaikos FC. Panathinaikos would later buy Nigerian born Polish international Emmanuel Olisadebe from Polonia. Their reward for reaching the Third Qualifying Round was a spot in the First Round of the UEFA Cup. |
