Górnik came about as a result of the merger of four clubs: RKS Concordia, KS Pogoń, RKS Skra and KS Zjednoczenie. Górnik Zabrze is the only Polish club to have reached the final of a European cup competiton. On 29 April 1970 at the Prater Stadium in Vienna, Górnik faced English club Manchester City in the Cup Winners Cup final. Górnik lost 1-2. |
