In the signature star pattern that has become an icon of the UEFA Champions League, this is the official match ball of the 2014 finale. This is the ball that will be used in the 2014 finale at the Estaˇdio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal on May 24th. In addition to the star panel design, the ball features the official UEFA Champions League logo throughout and a trophy graphic.

The adidas UEFA Champions League Finale 13 Official Match Ball will be used by Europe’s elite clubs during all group stage matches of the 2013/2014 competition. As with previous Official Match Balls, the new design features an outer coating texture designed to provide optimal grip at the point of impact.

The artwork within the iconic star panel construction uses distinctive colours (white / infrared / silver / black) and graphics to signify a “ceremony of light” design. The iconic UEFA Champions League logos positioned within the top and bottom star panels and the individual strands spreading from this design represent the vibrant stadiums on match day and resulting light beams emanating across Europe.

Now that the UEFA Champions League is about to enter its most exciting stage, the ball is ready to become the centre of attention once again, and will shine throughout the pitches of Europe; from the knock-out stages, all the way to the Final.

The design was inspired by the dynamic, young and hip scene of Berlin. The top star includes one of the most recognisable symbols of the city: the Brandenburg Gate set in front of the legendary Olympiastadion Berlin, the setting for this year’s ultimate UEFA Champions League showdown, which will take place on Saturday 6^th June, 2015.

 The surrounding stars on the ball each have a bold and colourful design, including the other key Berliner symbol: the bear. The vibrant mix of colour is also typical of the expressive, artistic and free spirited German capital city.

 As with all UEFA Champions League Official Match Balls, the Adidas Finale Berlin features an outer coating texture designed to provide optimal grip at the point of impact. The thermally bonded star panel design on the match ball, based on the design of the UEFA Champions League logo, provides a seamless surface and first-class performance. 

 The adidas Finale Berlin ball will be used on field during UEFA Champions League matches from tomorrow (Tuesday 17^th February, 2015) onwards up until and including the this year’s UEFA Champions League Final.

Herzogenaurach, August 25 – Adidas has today revealed the Official Match Ball for the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League group stages. The ball, which will help decide the winners of the biggest prize in club football, has a striking new design featuring comments from Adidas players on what winning means to them. The hand written messages come from some of the game’s best players, including the likes of Mesut Ozil, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale all saying how they win their way. “Play your life, I play mine”, says Ozil, with Toni Kroos contributing “controlling the game is everything”. James Rodriguez says “la creatividad gana”, meaning “creativity wins” whereas Bale says “being faster than a bullet”.

The ball features white panels surrounded by green stars and is based on the design of the UEFA Champions League logo. The star panels contain an outer coating texture, consistent across all Adidas UEFA Champions League Official Match Balls , to provide a seamless surface for optimal grip in varied conditions.

Adidas Unveils Welsh Dragon-Inspired Official Match Ball for the UEFA Champions League Knock Out Stages and Final

Herzogenaurach, 13^th February – With the UEFA Champions League returning for its crucial final stages, Adidas today unveiled theOfficial Match Ball that will be used as Europe’s best teams compete for the trophy.  

Celebrating the nation of Wales, which will host this year’s final, the ball’s unique design features a striking dragon print – inspired by the national emblem, which famously features prominently on the Welsh flag. 

The Adidas team, who travelled to Cardiff as part of the design process, drew inspiration from the power and strength the dragon represents in Celtic mythology – with the dragon print designed to represent the ferocity with which the final stages are played. 

The ball also delivers the performance benefits required to match the standard of the players set to light up the latter stages of the competition – the likes of Messi, Bale, Suarez and Müller. Its outer coating texture is consistent with all the Adidas UEFA Champions League Official Match Balls and provides optimal grip, while the thermally-bonded star panel design provides a seamless surface for improved first touch. 

The Adidas Final Cardiff 2017 ball will be used on field during UEFA Champions League matches from 14^th February up until and including the final on 3^rd June.
