|On Tuesday, October 11, Poland (squad) will take on Belarus in a friendly match. The game will be played at the Brita-Arena in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The last time the two teams met was a friendly match in Warsaw on February 9, 2005. Belarus won 3-1. Poland and Belarus were in the same qualifying group for the 2002 World Cup. In the first match in Lodz on October 7, 2000, Poland won 3-1. When they met on September 5, 2001, Poland had already qualified for the World Cup, Belarus won that match 4-1.
Belorussia's German coach, Bernd Stange, intends to use this match to give some new players a chance. They finished their ultimately unsuccessful Euro 2012 qualifying with a 2-2 draw away to Romania and Stange does not intend to renew his contract when it expires at the end of the year.
Franciszek Smuda is expected to experiment himself when he pairs Marcin Wasilewski and Damien Perquis in central defense.
