The Polish Cup (Puchar Polski) returns this week with two matches on Tuesday and two more on Wednesday to kick off the Round of 16
. Gryf Wejherowo will be hoping to claim another scalp when they take on
Gornik Zabrze after having eliminated Korona Kielce in the last round. The club, who play their league football in the 4th tier, have already achieved more then ever before by getting this far. In contrast their opponents have won the Cup six times in addition to their 14 league triumphs.
In the other Tuesday match Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala host
Slask Wroclaw. The Southern club is playing their first season in the Ekstraklasa and have already eliminated
GKS Belchatow from the Cup. Interestingly they will travel to Wroclaw for their Saturday league match
On Wednesday history is sure to be made when Ruch Zdzieszowice face
MKS Kluczbork. Both clubs have already reached the furthest stage of the Polish Cup in their histories. They also both play their league football in the Western Group of II liga (3rd tier) and currently have the same record of 6 wins, 4 draws, and 5 losses. When they met in the 3rd round of the league it was a 1-1 draw.
Arka Gdynia will also be familiar with their foes when they host
Polonia Warszawa. Gdynia who were relegated from the Ekstraklasa last season will have bitter memories of their last meeting with Polonia which ended 4-0 for the Warsaw club.
