Chelsea vs PSG – Betting Preview
We’ve finally arrived at the final of the 2025 Club World Cup and while it’s been a controversial tournament in more ways than one, the general feeling is that it’s been a lot more exciting than what we’ve come to expect from the smaller version of the CWC. Now, though, it’s all about the final, which is set to take place on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium.
The two teams involved will be Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. The Blues have been on an absolute tear through the Club World Cup to the point where many believe it could lead to them having even greater success in the Premier League next season – but of course, it’s easy to get ahead of yourself, especially for a club that has been down in the dumps for quite some time.

On the flip side, you’ve got Paris Saint-Germain. They have been the best club in world football in 2025 and it isn’t really even close. The European champions have been soaring, to the point where they seem to have made the right decision in prioritising the ‘team’ aspect above some of the superstar names that they once had on their books.
So whether you’re here to check out World Cup betting or you just want to know a bit more about the match, we’re here to break down what we think is going to happen when Chelsea collide with PSG.
On paper, a lot of people will say that this is a PSG walkover – but this is Chelsea Football Club we’re talking about here. They have made it their identity, in some ways, to overcome the odds in European and international competitions. They aren’t exactly the ultimate underdogs of the beautiful game but in this instance, things appear to be pretty stacked against them.
In truth, for the Club World Cup, the best outcome here is a very simple one: an entertaining game of football. If they go out with a whimper as opposed to a bang, even more eyebrows will be raised on the road to the 2029 edition in four years’ time.
Nobody is going to sit and pretend like the Blues are capable of outplaying PSG because the only way in which they’re going to do that is if the French side really aren’t at the races. Alas, complacency hasn’t been one of their traits during this campaign, and we do believe they’re probably going to dominate the ball from beginning to end.

Still, Chelsea are resolute and they know how to be calm under pressure, which is why we believe they’ll actually take the lead, likely through a moment of magic. From there, it’ll be on PSG to break them down – and we do think they’ll eventually grab the equaliser, but it’ll be pretty late in the game when the nerves really start to show.
From there we expect it to go all the way to penalties and unfortunately for the Stamford Bridge boys, they’ll miss the critical penalty that hands the trophy over to PSG.
Official prediction: Chelsea 1-1 PSG (PSG win 5-4 on penalties)
