PSG vs Real Madrid – Betting Preview

The 2025 Club World Cup is nearing its conclusion and while there have been some controversies surrounding it, there have also been some moments that have made the football world realise just how much closer other continents are getting to Europe – and that’s especially true in South America, where there’s been a really positive showing throughout the tournament.

With that being said, three of the four semi-finalists are European – and two of them will be colliding in the second semi-final. The two clubs in question are Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, both of whom know what it’s like to win at the elite level. Real are perhaps the biggest club in world football, whereas PSG are the reigning European Cup holders.

PSG

For PSG, they’re somewhat expected to win the whole thing and cement this as their real breakout year. In equal measure, they’ve had a few nervy moments here and there, leading many to believe that perhaps their heads aren’t quite as invested in this as they were during their surge to the title in the Champions League.

As for Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso can be pretty satisfied with how things have gone in the early stages of his tenure. He knows the weight on his shoulders and while the full season is going to be far more challenging, it’s a positive sign that they’ve been able to reach the final four here, especially given the question marks following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid

Regardless of how you feel about both teams, there’s no denying that this is the kind of spectacle you want to see at the Club World Cup. PSG and Real are as big as they get and although it may not provide the kind of drama you’d see in the UCL, the Kylian Mbappe story alone is going to draw in the masses.

So whether you’re here to take a look at wazamba or you just want to know a bit more about the game, we’re here to break down how we think it’s all going to play out.

We expect to see PSG wait for their moments, with Real being the ones who dictate the pace of play, but perhaps only because the French kings are allowing them to do so. It’s likely to be a technical game as opposed to a slugfest with both teams scoring multiple times, although we hope to be wrong on that front.

In terms of the actual result, we’re going to go ahead and say that PSG will edge past Real – but it’s going to be tight. There are some real superstars emerging (as always) in Madrid and they’ll want to prove that they deserve a place in the first team. PSG are just firing on all cylinders as a unit and this is the kind of game they’ll really want to get up for.

As we’ve said, there are a lot of reasons to be concerned about the future of the CWC moving forward, but this is a game that everyone should be interested in tuning in for.

Official prediction: PSG 2-1 Real Madrid
